Online play therapy for children and families in the Northwest Territories

Parenting and caregiving can be a tough job and it can be especially hard living in rural communities where there may be privacy concerns and where access to resources and services is limited.

As a northerner for over 20 years, I understand the special connections and the unique challenges that come with living in the North. I have travelled to many remote communities across the North, including in the NWT, and I use these experiences as a way to relate to my young clients.

Play therapy does not require a fully stocked playroom! I attune to each child’s needs and interests and provide a rich and engaging play environment online. From games to colouring, puppets, dollhouses and more. Children will have the opportunity to learn and grow without leaving their home community or having caregivers navigate complicated schedules and transportation.

As a Canadian Certified Counsellor, my services are covered by most insurance providers. I am also an approved NIHB provider (non-insured health benefits). To learn more about how my services may be covered for your individual situation, feel free to reach out by email: stefanie@stefanierichardson.ca.
